Resource Title: Gimp – GNU Image Manipulation Program
Pitch: Open souce photo editing software that’s more powerful than it should be for the price.
Summary: Open source software is no longer associated with ugly and barely functional. Gimp goes a long way to continue that trend. It offers some great features to help you edit and manipulate your images. Including layers, retouching, cropping, blurring and creation. It’s a great crossover tool which offers great paint functionality as well as image formatting and converting. Gimp is a great software at a great price and it will do just about everything that its more expensive counterparts (Photoshop and Paintshop) can do. It’s a great tool with a large community and resources to help you make the best of it.
Why authors should care about this resource: Authors, especially self-publishers and indies will be attracted to the price (FREE) but after using the tool many will be surprised at its power.
